MICRO SEVEN, INC.â, MULTI-LINE TELEPHONE CABLE SIMULATOR, Model PC300-CSXX, is shown in the above picture.

INTRODUCTION

Micro Seven, inc.â, Multi-line Telephone Cable Simulator, model PC300-CSXX provides simulation of maximum sixteen twisted copper pairs of cable for both analog telephone and DSL modems. The “XX” after the word “PC300-CS” indicates a number of simulated cable pairs, i.e. PC300-CS08 provides eight cable pairs. The PC300-CSXX simulates cable resistance, capacitance, inductance and conductance for maximum 15 kilometers (CS10-1) of telephone lines depending on its configuration for each 1km increment. The Windows-type control software as a standard accessory provides programming of cable distance for each cable pair between 1 and 15 km. It also provides simulation of random noise and impulse noise that exist on public telephone line or PBX by telephone line switching and electro-magnetic interference. The PC300-CSXX front panel contains two RJ11 connectors for each cable pairs, loop current indicator for each line, and power indicator. Programming of cable distance, random noise amplitude, and impulse noise for each cable pair is accomplished by Windows-compatible control software and RS232C interface. Programmed parameters are stored in non-volatile memory inside PC300-CSXX, and on the power-up PC300 restores all programmed parameters without PC connected. Each cable pair is isolated from earth ground. Each cable pair could be set up for its own distance, random noise, and impulse noise.
